Excellent food and service, with a view to match. Husband had an awesome beef dip on a perfect pretzel bun and I had one of the specials: marinated calamari salad topped with olive tapenade. Wow. Interior is old-school but charming. Would totally come here again.
The food was ok, it was a good size helping. The view is amazing and it was very clean and reasonable time to wait for food.
The Shady is the Shady. Its an institution here and its location alone guaruntees its success. Personally, I find the food in the pub a bit pricey but the bartender knows her stuff and every time I have been in I get treated well. My MAIN gripe is with the beer store across the road also owned by them. Their loyalty program is a joke. Nearly four years as a regular customer and I did not aquire even half the points to a 'freebie' whereas I did so at Oceanside Liquor in a matter of three months. So I quit going there.
My family and I went to the Shady Rest Restaurant to celebrate our anniversary. The server made us feel rushed to place our orders without giving us enough time to look at the menu. She not make us feel welcome but rather made it feel as if we were an Inconvenience for her. The food was okay and the evening views were really beautiful however the experience left us feeling like we should have chosen somewhere else to dine.
Oh my God real cheesecake!! Awesome service, wonderful good, spectacular view. Recommended. Clean smart decor, clean washrooms, friendly team oriented staff.
