A great intimate atmosphere, attentive and friendly service with perfectly prepared, Italian dishes. What more can you ask for.Calamari was very tender and seasoned well.The beef carpaccio was accompanied with horseradish aioli dressed salad and slices of parmesan cheese and capers. The flavours all sang together in harmony.We have found our special go to restaurant in Qualicum.
This place sounded amazing, so we made the drive the Qualicum on a whim. Got to the restaurant just after 6 and saw lots of room however the hostess told us they couldnt seat us? Sad to turn away customers when you have more empty tables than full. Drove to Cuckoos, they were packed but found a way to make room for our table of two. Too bad, heard good things.
Loved the food. Ambience was just right and the service was fantastic. Highly recommended.
Since it was Sunday, only the lounge side was open. And despite the menu listing salads and appetizers, they only offered pizza because, they said, of the "restaurant" kitchen being closed. And, for whatever reason, they said only large and small we're available, not the medium listed on the menu. The veggie pizza was pretty good. Thicker crust. Decent amount of vegetables. Gluten free margherita pizza was also pretty good. Thinner crust. Couldn't tell it was gluten free. Nice wine options. $9-10 for a 6 oz glass. Outdoor seating along the sidewalk was enjoyable, although, strangely, there we're almost no people out and about the town (7:30 pm on a Sunday).
Make reservations! The place is wonderful as is the service. The drinks were made right and the food is delicious! We had a great experience here and from what others have told me, it is like that all the time. Can't wait to return!
