In Jul 2016, our 9 year old yellow lab, Becky, tore her right cruciate ligament. Dr Jeff diagnosed this immediately and advised of the options available. As he does not favor surgery he give us the option of an alternative procedure. It worked very well and 6 months later Becky was running and playing as usual. Then, being a lab, she tore the left cruciate ligament., Apparently this is not uncommon among these breeds. Back to the alternative procedure. Again in 6 months she is almost back to normal for a 10 year old. She can run and do her "circles", of course after about year of somewhat restricted exercise she gets tired a bit sooner than before. No surgery in my opinion is HUGE.The procedure is actually very straightforward but requires significant effort on the part of the owner. It involves cartrophen injections and laser therapy (yes I know I had not heard of this before either) along with chiropractic adjustments of her spine during the healing process. Big item, which Dr. Jeff made very clear was a very restricted exercise regime which slowly increased as she started to heal.Drs. Louise and Jeff and all the staff at the Mid-Isle Veterinary Hospital are simply fantastic, Becky loves to go the the vet (weird eh!).They all have our sincere thanks.Geoff

Awesome knowledge of dogs with allergies. Don't over prescribe. Rates are very reasonable considering the level of care. All of the staff loves animals and only want what's best and reasonable for your pets.

Having just moved from the mainland, we were somewhat distressed with prospect of finding a new vet when our 15 year dog became ill. Dr Jeff and his staff proved to be a pleasant surprise. Dr Jeff gave us several practical options for treatment and Oscar is now his old self once again. We highly recommend!

approximately 4 years go our cat was drinking a lot of water and wasn't doing well . Dr. Jeff did a through review and examination Hunter had diabetes . With medications we caught it in time after several months of insulin and visits to Dr. Jeff Hunter was able to carry on without insulin. Recently Hunter was loosing and not eating much . Again Dr. Jeff did a thorough review telling us to change his food and gave him medication . Hunter is now eating his new food and he is more lively. We highly recommend Mid-Isle Veterinary.
