The interior is so clean and nice, they have an upstairs with a cafe! For such a huge busy place however their washrooms are seriously lacking in size. (also for having a cafe, a sit-down restaurant and a deli!)The deli had a nice spread, though their egg salad had shells in it and was pretty dry. Their cafe served old, cold french fries since the server didn't want to make new ones. When I got fresh ones they were served in the actual serving size which was at least 2x the original portion.Otherwise they were pretty friendly and I'll go there again and give it another chance.
I love Qualicum Foods! I go there ever time I am in town. The prices are amazing, the staff are friendly and welcoming, and the store itself is beautiful. They have a wide selection of groceries, including hot take away food like potato wedges and the best Chinese food you'll ever have. You can sit upstairs and enjoy a hot cup of Starbucks coffee and people watch over the grocery store. They also have beautiful displays of home/kitchen items upstairs that make wonderful gifts or a new addition to your home.I honestly think it's the best grocery store on the island. I live 3 hours away, and I wish we had something just as good in my town.
Smaller Grocery store if you going to shop here often get a Q-card.Good fresh produce. Small fresh seafood section. Good number of staff if you have questions.No pharmacy.No wine sales but there liquor stores next door in Parksville and Qualicum locations.
Well normally I would say your store is one of the best. As of today though I was disappointed. You use to put out the best stuffed mushrooms they were small and a nice variety of fillings. You also had beautiful big scallops. Didn't see the scallops and 4 huge mushrooms in a package instead of those nice 8 packs of smaller mushrooms. Everything we ALWAYS purchase for our first meal when we arrived isn't there. Any how...just saying.
I am so disappointed with how QF has gone downhill with their products, yet charge, on average, 2 to 3 times more than other places. I recently bought some extra lean hamburger, on sale. I CAN NOT believe the amount of water than ran out of my burgers! Thankfully, I was grilling them on top of some foil, or the amount of water spewing out would have extinguished my briquettes! Sadly, I'm not even exaggerating. I also wish they would start throwing out old moldy food instead of putting a "Special' sticker on it and putting back on the shelf. The last THREE items I bought with a 'Special' sticker, were moldy and inedible. I would give you zero stars if I could. I have decided it's just not worth shopping there anymore. Thanks for making me have to leave town to do my grocery shopping. You suck QF.
