Great staff. Lots for the kids to do. River is great for swimming and fishing. LOVE the retro arcade, games from the 80s, and still only a quarter!
Beautiful campground, in a great location. We backed onto the river, and enjoyed falling asleep listening to the water flow. Clean laundry facilities, bathroom and showers!
Owners were super nice. Lots were small and very close together. Right on the river and good to tube down as long as the water is ar a decent level.
So we Paid full price and wasnt informed they had NO working toilets only porta-potties, got set up in the site and found the site wasnt groomed (dog feces from other animals, and a hole approximately a foot across and 10 deep) this area would have been a lovely place to put our pop-up and propane fire pit for the cool evenings. The next day we are getting ready to head into Parksville and my dogs were off leash so we could get them into the car, they met me at the edge of our campsite as i was coming back from the porta-pottie and the owner barks at me please get your dogs on the leash, fair is fair, I just wish the campground OWNERS/managers would do their jobs and prep the sites and enforce the dogs on leash rule for everyone else.So the owners come by today and ask me to fix my water purifier as the hose attachment is leaking and i have attempted to stop it, I figure I have paid full price for a campground that isnt working 100%, and dogs on leash rules that only apply when they get out on their golf carts, so they can kiss my a** and fix it themselves.I used to love this place and have stayed here on numerous occasions, dont waste your money folks, head south into Coombs and Coombs country campground and stay there instead, at least you will have working toilets, a hot-tub, a pool and a small lake.Wish i could post some pictures for all to see as well.Cheers
Reasonable price, and we managed to get a spot without reservation mid-week in July. Paid $6 more to have a riverside camping spot which was worth it. Theres a nice little beach on the river and a great playground for kids. Near a busy road, so the noise might be a factor for some people. Second night there we didn't sleep well because there was a couple yelling, crying, fighting and honking their car horn in the spot next to us far past midnight. We got wafts of smell from the outhouse by our campsite at times. Happy to see they have coin laundry. Light turns off while you're in the shower, and wasn't thrilled that shower was coin operated, but it was quite clean in all the buildings.
